| In 1996 we opened a retail store with motorcycle related gifts and stuff. Not your ordinary type stuff. The kind of merchandise others did not carry. Biker Basics had become a unique entity thanks to the support of the Pen Cycle Shop and the areas motorcycle community. We were very successful regardless of the 30+ biker related shops are in the Tidewater Virginia. Biker Basics worked with the other motorcycle merchants, no against them. Biker Basics was and still is a family oriented company and is here to support the sport no matter what you ride. Biker Basics closed its door in 2000 due to a 'regular' daytime job relocation to Richmond, Virginia.I have been riding motorcycles since 1972. Started out on
a Honda CB350cc. Progressed to a Triumph 500cc. Since 1977 I have
owned this 1975 FLH Police Special, It's a great ride and I love it. Laurie, my wife of 17+ years
and friend for 27+ years, loves riding with me too. This picture was taken with only him and I and the camera set on automatic, placed on top of a trash can. I had taken about eight photos trying to get him to look at the camera and not follow me as I ran behind the bike before the camera snapped the pic.
